John Hickey ‏@JHickey3 #Atheltics OF candidate Michael Choice has added a sacrifice fly and another single today. He's 10-for-17 (.588) in the Cactus League.  Sonny Gray, 23, the A's top pick in the 2011 draft, hopes for a call-up from Sacramento, where there's less starting- pitching depth than in previous years. He pitched two innings Monday.  Photo: Lance Iversen, The Chronicle Expand   Reply   Retweet   Favorite  Buffer    More Oakland Athletics Athletics Home The Drumbeat Blog Schedule | Roster Standings | Stats MLB Players | Scoreboard Stats | Teams Fan Zone Reader Photos Fan Forums Buy Tickets Fan Shop Get your A's gear here 0inShare Comments (3) Larger | Smaller Printable Version Email This Font Phoenix -- - The next wave of A's talent was on display Monday at Phoenix Municipal Stadium. Sonny Gray, the A's top pick in 2011, pitched two innings in the A's 14-10 loss to the Indians, and Michael Choice, the team's top pick in 2010, homered and had two more hits, raising his total to five in three games. "He's got a quick bat," A's manager Bob Melvin said. Choice banged his left knee running into the wall in center field in the eighth but remained in the game and said afterward that he is fine. Considering his 2012 season ended with a broken thumb, it's going to take a heck of a lot more than a bruise to get him off the field. And Choice's hot bat is an indication he hasn't missed a beat since the thumb injury in July. "It's a huge relief not having to worry about trying to find everything again," Choice said of the way his swing has clicked immediately. "I strictly have to worry about the pitchers and what I'm going to do." Choice got hot right after the All-Star break last year...
