In the letter of resignation that was directed to the Prime Minister Ali Zidan, Ms. Awatif al-Tushani said "administrative and financial irregularities" within the ministry made her realize would not be able to continue her job. In the resignation letter al-Tushani made it clear that she had already informed the Prime Minister of irregularities in meetings with him but no measures were undertaken in such regard. She also said that the position she took toward the irregularities made her face personal harassment at work. "With reference to our talks about previous problems related to method, implementation and various forms of administrative and financial excesses, which you have already been made aware of, they later turned to personal harassment as a result of lack of follow-up, accountability or interference from higher ups," al-Tushani wrote to the PM. She also vowed to continue her struggle against corruption in the country.
